moving on to the next stop

Packed all our bags this morning, and headed out towards the Gold Coast. Part way down we had to alter our route as we discovere that the Gold Coast Marathon was on until 2pm, and so there were road closures, as well as heaps of traffic. We diverted southwards further and came off the M1 below Burleigh Heads. Saw the Tweed Heads signage. After a quick diversion to check out the difference between roading in New South Wales vs Queensland, we drifted into Burleigh Heads and parked up. Awesome lunch at The Pantry Cafe; cheap, but the portions were massive!

Walked along the beach and took some photos up the coastline to Surfers’ Paradise.

Also some pictures of these two dogs….one was a tiny puppy, and the other a big fighting dog.

Then we went back further north to the Palazzo Versace. WOW!! Palazzo Versace is amazing. Cafe Versace is great, poolside with cocktails. Yummy. Well priced too. Same as Auckland pricing, so not hammering you because it’s Versace or touristy at all. The china and utensils are totally Versace, but tastefully so, ie not the bling style too many people do. Caught the sunset along the coast after that and got some great shots. Then moved back through Surfers’ and over Chevron Island to get to Sarah and Ian’s place. Caitlin was still up, and got some cool photos of her too. Sooooo cute!!

I think tomorrow’s going to be shopping for the girls, so I’ll just hang with Caitlin and watch them do their thing.
